How it works

From yesterday’s tools to this morning’s paper.

Seven steps, every night. You do the first one once. The rest happens while you sleep, and every sentence keeps a link to where it came from.

The pipeline

One durable workflow per edition.

Each step is checkpointed and safe to retry. If something stalls at 3am, it picks up where it left off, not from scratch.

  1. 01
    Once · about 2 minutes

    Connect

Sign in to your tools with OAuth. Gong, HubSpot, Salesforce, Slack, Linear, Stripe, or your own systems through a custom MCP server or a signed webhook.

    • Read-only access, scoped to what the paper needs
    • Exclude channels, people and topics before anything is read
    • Each source lists the beats it covers
  2. 02
    Overnight

    Collect

After midnight in your time zone, we pull yesterday’s calls, deals, releases, tickets and messages, and normalize them into one kind of item.

    • Redactions and exclusions apply before any model sees a word
    • Everything is sealed into a hashed, encrypted evidence pack
    • If a source comes back incomplete, the paper says so
  3. 03
    Story budget

    Rank

Facts become candidate stories, scored on consequence, novelty, evidence and the human detail. The best one leads.

    • Repeats from the last five issues run only as real follow-ups
    • Quiet day? Fewer stories, said honestly. No quotas
    • Editors can see and override the budget
  4. 04
    House style

    Write

A strong model writes headlines, stories, the email teaser and an audio script, in your house style and one of 5 tone presets.

    • Numbers are written as tokens and filled in by code
    • Your rules apply: “say customers, never clients”
    • Banned phrases stay banned. No “a testament to”
  5. 05
    Gates, not vibes

    Verify

Every edition passes code checks first, then a separate model that sees only the claim and its evidence.

    • Numbers recomputed by code, every one
    • Quotes must match the source word for word, from the right speaker
    • Sensitive topics are held or dropped by your policy
  6. 06
    Optional

    Approve

Let it publish itself, approve every edition, or publish automatically unless something is flagged. The galley shows exactly what will go out.

    • Approve from Slack or email in one tap
    • Any edit after approval needs a fresh approval
    • Fix a sentence once and make it a house rule
  7. 07
    7:30am

    Deliver

The paper lands by email, Slack or Teams before the first coffee, with an audio edition and a permanent, searchable archive.

    • If chat fails, email still goes
    • Audio never holds up the paper
    • More than 30 minutes late? You’re credited automatically

  • Smart brevity

    02
Three new customers. $93K in new ARR. Harbor Freightworks led with $55K. Why it matters: Q4 opens strong.
  • Warm & conversational

    03
What a Tuesday: three new customers joined Northwind, and Harbor Freightworks led the way with a $55,000 agreement.
  • Executive briefing

  • Playful

    05
The bell rang three times on Tuesday. Harbor Freightworks rang it loudest, at $55,000.
  • Add rules in plain English: “Never report deals under $5,000.” “Celebrate the team, not individuals, for losses.” Corrections you make become rules too.
